More beautiful, more vast and more complete than ever, the Forza Horizon license is preparing a new release.

While Forza Horizon, the first instalment in the Forza Motorsport franchise, is slowly approaching its 15th anniversary, the fifth and most recent opus - logically named Forza Horizon 5 - is already almost five years old. The time therefore seemed right to offer us a new sequel. A sequel announced last year at the Tokyo Game Show, but for which no launch date had yet been leaked.

Today we have it, and shortly after the first leaks, we have official confirmation from development studio Playground Games and its publisher, Xbox Game Studios. The sixth instalment of the franchise will be released on May 19, both on PC and consoles. For the latter, the range is relatively limited: we're talking only about PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For our PCs, there's also a noticeable limitation: the system requirements.

For the time being, neither Playground Games nor Xbox Game Studios have made any announcements in this regard, and the first details have been provided by the Steam platform's product sheet: Windows 10 22H2 or higher, an Intel i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, backed by a minimum of 16 GB of RAM, are required. Graphics will require at least an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, an AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT or an Intel ARC A380/B390, and SSDs are required for storage, without specifying capacity.

No definition, graphic detail or animation speed information is given for hardware recommendations that sound like " minimum system requirements ". Forza Horizon 6 promises to be magnificent and particularly detailed: between now and May 19, Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios have plenty of time to send us further details.
