What DriversCloud collects, what you control, and how to check it
Why this page

DriversCloud detects your hardware to offer you the right drivers. This page describes exactly which information the agent can send, which privacy level each one belongs to, and who can see it. The list is produced from the configuration the service actually uses: it is always up to date.

Most of this information is intended for the configuration module, whose purpose is to build an inventory of your hardware and software.

You do not have to enable everything: in the agent options, you choose the modules you need. The minimal mode, for instance, is enough for the drivers module to work.

Your configuration data is never sold, rented or passed on to third parties. It is used only to display your inventory, and stored configurations are encrypted. No personal or private data is collected.

12 items out of 715 can identify your machine. They belong to the highest level, above the level applied by default: they are not sent unless you explicitly ask for it.

Who can see your configuration
By default, a configuration is visible to you only.
  • You, the owner of the machine: you see every item that was sent.
  • A public share: the configuration is visible at the level you choose when sharing. You can change it or revoke it at any time.
  • A named share: the configuration is only visible to the member you designate, once they have accepted the share.
Your data belongs to you
Viewing, export and deletion are available to every account, with no condition.
  • You can export your configurations at any time.
  • You can delete one configuration, or all of your data, from your account.

What never leaves your computer

Your Windows user name and your machine host name are replaced by « anonymous » directly in the configuration data sent to the server. They therefore never reach us.

Drivers straight from the manufacturers

The drivers offered by DriversCloud.com are collected from the manufacturers' official websites and distributed without any modification. The service identifies your hardware and points you to the matching driver: it repackages no file and adds no installer of its own.
