In just under a week's time, AMD will be launching its new " king of gaming " processor.
Sometimes heralded as AMD's new "little bomb", the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is above all the new flagship of the manufacturer's X3D range, and should logically allow it to boast once again, a little over a year after the release of the already excellent Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Thanks to its X3D cache - which doubles the amount of combined cache in a processor - this processor can make do with 8 cores and still deliver today's best gaming performance.

Well, not quite yet, since everything leads us to believe that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D should logically cede its crown to the newcomer thatAMD presented at CES, held from January 6 to 9, 2026 in Las Vegas. There, AMD highlighted the new assets of a chip that should above all reside in the increase in operating frequencies - well, boost frequencies, which have risen from " up to 400 MHz " to 5.6 GHz.
While AMD took the time to detail its new processor at CES, the American company was not very forthcoming on certain crucial points. So it's only today, after numerous rumors, that we know more about the release date of the Ryzen 7 9850X3D: it will be released on January 29, and priced at $499. This represents only a small increase ($20) on the launch price of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, but we still don't have the result of the conversion + VAT according to AMD: a processor at less than 500 euros? Almost no chance. On the other hand, it's quite possible that the price will be less than 550 euros.
