NVIDIA clarifies whether the GeForce RTX Founders Edition is simply out of stock or out of production
Is NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition no longer on sale?
The rumor had the effect of a small bombshell in the graphics card world: the disappearance of the GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 Founders Edition from NVIDIA's official website could have given the impression that the American firm had put an end to production of these cards, less than nine months after they went on sale. However, looking beyond the U.S. and U.K. stores, the situation seemed a little more complex. Indeed, on the German and French sites, only the GeForce RTx 5090 Founders Edition had disappeared, while the RTX 5080 FE is still on sale. Could NVIDIA have imagined a gradual withdrawal, focusing on countries like Germany and France?
It doesn't make much sense, and even less sense when you consider that NVIDIA has just recently deployed in Europe the GeForce RTX 5090 reservation system that had been in place since February 2025 in the USA.
A few days after the start of this rumour, and to cut short these rumours, NVIDIA intervened. The American firm doesn't usually comment on rumors, but here it felt the need to clarify matters, telling Wccftech: " The GeForce RTX 50 Founders Edition series are still in production. These are limited edition products, so they may be out of stock on our website, and we'll return them as soon as they're available again ". So there's no question of stopping production of Founders Edition for the time being, but simply of reflecting the actual state of stocks.
