A third "Ada Lovelace" card is due to arrive soon from NVIDIA: there is talk of a launch early next year.
On October 12, NVIDIA ended a wait of several months by officially presenting its new generation of graphics cards. Based on the "Ada Lovelace" architecture, the new cards are particularly ambitious and should have a clear advantage over the previous generation - "Ampere" - and its GeForce RTx 3000. At the time of the announcement, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang presented a very high-end card, the GeForce RTX 4090, before detailing two slightly less ambitious models, the GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB and 4080 12 GB.
Released in the wake of its announcement, the GeForce RTX 4090 proved to be a powerhouse, but also a particularly power-hungry, imposing and, above all, very expensive card. NVIDIA's official price tag is 1,969 euros, but most of the cards from the American brand's partners are over 2,100 euros, or even over 2,300 euros. Of course, for many gamers this is an unattainable dream and even the most enthusiastic were waiting for news about the other two models. Information about the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB should not be long in coming, since the end of the embargo on press testing is due this week, but there is still talk of a card costing more than 1,400 euros.
On the other hand, the situation of the RTX 4080 12GB, which was supposed to be a little cheaper, has become much more complex. Indeed, NVIDIA has finally decided to stop the launch of this card recognizing that its communication around this model had been " confusing ". It must be said that the first leaks surrounding its performance suggested that the gap with the RTX 4080 16GB would be very large. It was then difficult for NVIDIA to properly segment its lines by naming it the RTX 4080.

Since NVIDIA's partners have already started the production of cards and the logistics are impossible to completely review, the American brand has finally decided to rename this GeForce RTX 4080 12Gb as GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, thus making the change of range, but still insisting on a high level of performance thanks to the "Ti" suffix. For the moment, NVIDIA did not want to say more, but several sources have mentioned a launch in three stages: presentation on January 3 during CES 2023 in Las Vegas, publication of tests on January 4 and marketing from January 5.
The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti would then be the first "Ada Lovelace" card to be offered for under $1,000. Of course, things are still not very clear, but various rumors agree on a price recommended by NVIDIA of around 900 dollars.
