Windows 10 21H1: Explorer gains speed, ISO available for insiders
Microsoft is slowly preparing to roll out the next update for Windows 10. The ISO is already available to insiders.
Confirming again and again the biannual rhythm of its updates for Windows 10, Microsoft says the Spring update should be deployed soon. Of course, there will still be a few weeks to wait to enjoy it on the home PC, but there are signs that do not deceive. Indeed, members of the insider program have received confirmation of the availability of ISO 21H1 of Windows 10. This is the installation file for the latest version of the OS, completely up to date.
First constraint, you must obviously be part of the insider program to be able to download the said ISO. The second constraint is that, as with every release of these "advance" ISOs, it is only possible to use them to perform a "clean" installation of the system. It is therefore impossible to update an already operational Windows 10.
For the majority of users, we will have to wait a few more weeks to enjoy this Windows 10 21H1 whose "code name" simply refers to the current year (2021) and the semester concerned (first half - H1 ). In the meantime, we can console ourselves by thinking that this update should bring a serious boost to the Windows Explorer. For Windows Latest, Mayank Parmar explains that some small persistent bugs are finally solved, speeding up the operation of the explorer.
Mayank Parmar mentions, for example, the resolution of problems with the search bar as well as the correction of a bug that could lead to excessive consumption of resources. There is also talk of better management of all filters and improved support for connected/mapped drives.
