Is AMD planning a sixth RDNA3 graphics card?
A pleasant surprise - no doubt? - for gamers on a tight budget.
Just a few days ago, AMD finally kept its promise to offer new-generation graphics cards in the mid-range segment. In this instance, the American firm distributed the Radeon RX 7700XT and Radeon RX 7800XT with the support of numerous partners, in order to have a consistent presence in all the world's resellers. It has to be said that the stakes are high: it's true that the best-performing cards are to be found in the GeForce 4080/4090 and Radeon RX 7900XT/XTX ranges, but when it comes to performance/price ratio, the mid-range is far more interesting.
In fact, it's even the entry-level that's the most interesting segment, and it's perhaps for this reason that AMD doesn't seem to have finished with its RDNA3 models. A few days after the launch of the Radeon RX 7700XT and Radeon RX 7800XT, Scott Herkelman - vice-president and general manager of AMD's graphics division - hinted that there would be no new RDNA3 card in the immediate future, stating that " the RDNA 3 line-up is complete ". According to the man himself, five cards - 7900XTX, 7900XT, 7800XT, 7700XT and 7600 - were sufficient to meet NVIDIA's offer.
But a leak from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) tells a different story. A Moscow-based organization responsible for validating products for the Armenian, Belarusian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz and Russian markets, the EEC has leaked documents relating to a hypothetical Radeon RX 7600XT. Hypothetical, because there's no official confirmation yet, but the card in question would already come in four variants for manufacturer PowerColor alone: PowerColor RX 7600 XT Hellhound OC 12 GB (RX7600XT 12G-L/OC), PowerColor RX 7600 XT Fighter OC 12 GB (RX7600XT 12G-F), PowerColor RX 7600 XT Hellhound OC 10 GB (RX7600XT 10G-L/OC), PowerColor RX 7600 XT Fighter OC 10 GB (RX7600XT 10G-F).
As you'll have gathered from these references, the Radeon RX 7600XT will be equipped with either 10 GB or 12 GB of memory, depending on the version - a clear increase on the 8 GB Radeon RX 7600, the latest addition to the RDNA3 range. In the same vein, we're counting on a Navi 32 or 33 GPU for this card - very similar, no doubt, to that of the Radeon RX 7600 - and a higher interface bus than that of its little sister: 192-bit versus 128-bit. Of course, we should bear in mind that none of this has yet been confirmed by AMD, but if a 10GB or 12GB Radeon RX 7600XT were to see the light of day, it would make it possible to have a large capacity in video memory without investing a fortune. To be continued...
