Forza Horizon 6 aims for 60 pis in 4K on "simple" RTX 5070/RX 9070 XT. Thanks to upscaling!
Playground Games has just published the recommended system configurations for Forza Horizon 6, its new event game.
Just over two months ago, Microsoft and Playground Games caused a sensation by announcing that Forza Horizon 6 would be released on May 19. An eventful release for a game eagerly awaited by an ever-growing community: the Forza Horizon franchise, which was merely an offshoot of Forza Motorsport, has come a long way since the launch of the first in October... 2012.
At the time of this announcement, we were looking forward to discovering Japan - the chosen setting for this new opus - and being able to play it on consoles as well as on PC, with one major question, however: what configuration will be required to get the best out of it and, above all, to maintain fluidity at all times (at least 60 frames per second), given that Playground Games has already extensively highlighted ray tracing support within the game.
The answer, or at least the beginnings of one, came from the developers just yesterday with the publication of the recommended configurations for running Forza Horizon 6, and... it's a pleasant surprise. Indeed, while we won't dwell too much on the minimum configuration, which is often too low to really enjoy a game, the recommended configuration isn't a monster of power. We're talking about an Intel Core i5-12400F or an AMD Ryzen 5-5600X for the CPU, but above all, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or an Intel Arc A580 for the graphics. Nothing too demanding, especially as this should allow you to play in 1440p at 60 fps, with graphics detail at a premium!
Better still, the most demanding configuration presented by the developers isn't as monstrous as we might have feared. Mind you, we're talking about a very powerful PC, but we're talking about playing in 4K at 60 fps with all graphical details at maximum, ray tracing enabled! Well, you don't need much more than an Intel Core i7-12700K/AMD Ryzen 7 7700X backed by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT. No, the RTX 5090 is not the only salvation for 4K enthusiasts. Playground Games is talking about an " upscaled" 4K mode, in other words, by activating DLSS 4, FSR 3/4 or XeSS 2.1. After all, that's what these technologies are for! Rendezvous on May 19 to see all this in motion.
