More than ever, 2026 should be the year of the mini-PC.

Halfway between the big, bulky but powerful tower and the mobile but often limited laptop, the mini-PC has gained in popularity throughout 2024 and 2025. Today, these tiny machines have become real stars on platforms such as AliExpress and Amazon, and everything suggests that 2026 should be no different, with perhaps a little more difficulty in finding one's way around the countless references available.

This is undoubtedly why one of the most prominent brands on the online shopping scene has decided to think outside the box for its next creation. AceMagic has just teased us with the announcement of its Retro X5, a mini-PC whose design changes completely to resemble the famous NES home console launched by Nintendo in 1983. The design thus moves away from mini-PC standards towards something more original, but which obviously won't appeal to everyone.

In order not to disappoint power-lovers and to offer a product that remains up to current standards, AceMagic has put its trust in AMD and its Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. This is a particularly beefy processor, thanks to its 12 CPU cores in Zen 5 architecture, the best AMD has to offer today. What's more, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 comes with a powerful integrated graphics solution: the Radeon 890M, built around 16 GPU cores in RDNA 3.5 architecture.

This iGPU, as we say in the jargon, is certainly not in RDNA 4, but should be sufficiently versatile: think that it's even possible to do without a graphics card to play the most recent titles, provided you limit yourself to 1080p. The only fly in the ointment is that AceMagic is still very discreet about the rest of the configuration, the exact design of its chassis and, most embarrassingly of all, the price/availability of the Retro X5. No doubt we'll find out more at CES in Las Vegas.
