Gradually, the hardware requirements for the latest games are moving away from older configurations.
Just a few days ago, we reported on the ever-increasing hardware requirements needed to fully enjoy the latest video games. Titles such as Battlefield 6 or Dying Light: The Beast - to name but the most recent - require 32 GB of RAM to play at maximum fluidity/graphic detail.

Today we reach a new milestone, as Borderlands 4 - usually a rather reasonable franchise - requires an 8-core processor. And we're not talking about an "ultra" configuration or the latest ray tracing effects. No, Gearbox Software and 2K Games require an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X processor, simply to meet the "minimum requirements" we like to refer to for configurations that - as a general rule - allow you to launch the game, but not to enjoy it to the full.
In fact, for the "recommended" configuration, we're talking outright about an Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor, which must of course be accompanied by the indispensable 32 GB of RAM and a rather muscular graphics card, such as NVIDIA RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800XT or Intel ARC B580. It's also worth pointing out that "minimum" or "recommended" configuration - no, nothing in between, we're pretty binary here at 2K Games - you'll also need an SSD with at least 100 GB of available space. In short, a configuration within everyone's reach!
