They complement the new Ryzen 5000 series by offering very decent integrated graphics solutions.

After the Surface Laptop 4, here is another secret of the computer industry that is officially presented. AMD has indeed decided to lift the veil on its new range of Ryzen microprocessors, the 5000 G-Series. They logically follow the Ryzen 5000 series that the American launched during the fall of 2020. Logically, because the Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 9 5950X suffered from a slight "defect": they do not offer any integrated graphics solution.

"Flaw" is obviously too strong a term, but the lack of an integrated graphics solution is a problem for many PC manufacturers. Integrators who like to offer complete machines without the need for a dedicated graphics card... especially in these times of severe shortage! It is therefore logical to see AMD following up on the Ryzen 4000 G-Series to make their architecture evolve. The six Ryzen 5000 G-Series models are all designed around Zen 3 cores, but they have to make do with a Radeon Graphics Vega graphics solution while waiting for the probable arrival of RDNA 2 evolutions.

Six Ryzen 5000 G-Series APUs have already been announced by AMD, from the Ryzen 3 5300GE / 5300G to the Ryzen 7 5700GE / 5700G, including the Ryzen 5 5600GGE / 5600G. The first ones are obviously the least powerful with a 4 cores / 8 threads configuration and operating frequencies set at 3.6 GHz. Intermediate, the Ryzen 5 5600G and Ryzen 5 5600GE go to 6 cores / 12 threads with frequencies starting at 3.4 GHz. Finally, the Ryzen 7 5700G and Ryzen 7 5700GE go even further: 8 cores / 16 threads and base frequencies of 3.8 GHz.

Note the main difference between the G series and the GE series: the latter are guaranteed a significantly lower TDP, they are low-power models. Finally, it should be noted that AMD has not revealed any price list for these APUs: logical since they are reserved for OEMs.
